We're Home!

Everyone arrived in one piece about 7:20 PM at church. The group looked wind-beaten and tired as they used their last bit of energy to unload the vehicles. All will sleep well tonight!

Coming Home

Our group of bicyclers should be arriving home around 7:30 this evening (Thursday). Come to church and welcome them home!

Day 6, Thursday

It's all over!

Team NFC just arrived safe and sound at the foot of Morro Rock (1:00 PM). The weather is cold yet clear again, and everyone had a good ride.

They'll spend the rest of the day eating lunch at Taco Temple, spend a short time playing on the beach and then driving home.

Check back here later this afternoon for an exact estimate of when the group will be arriving at NFC tonight.

Worshiping at the temple of Taco? Hmmm.....

Day 5, Wednesday

The highlight of today's ride was seeing the elephant seals just north of San Simeon and Hearst Castle. With over 7,000 seals in this one colony they are hard to miss. Bikers ride right beside the beach as the seals lay around in the warm sun. Check this website out for more information if you are interested: http://www.hearstcastle.com/visitors_center/elephant_seals.asp.

Team NFC saw clear weather and sunny skies today, but strong winds and cold temperatures. After making camp at San Simeon State Park the gang trekked across the highway to the beach. No one stayed very long - it was cold and windy!

The riding was smooth and there were no accidents or injuries. There were, however, some of the toughest hills of the tour. These are affectionately known as the "coastal rollers."

Some of the best news today - showers in the campground. Woo-hoo!

It's the last night for a campfire and that means the last night for Smores. Just a half day of riding on Thursday and then it's time to head home.

Day 4, Tuesday

It was a perfect day for riding! Jacob got back up on his horse and there were no accidents. Praise God!

After a great ride the group was glad to find their campsite, a little rustic site called Plaskett Creek Campground. The night was cold, the fire was hot, and there were no showers (unless you were brave enough to use a hose!). The campground is right across Hwy 1 which is right next to the beach. It's a beautiful spot!

I received a batch of pictures from Tracy this afternoon. It looks like a fun trip....
