Day 2, Sunday

Team Fresno had a great ride with only a few minor complications. The weather was clear and sunny but with gusty winds. Road conditions were good and this was one of the most beautiful stretches of the tour, often right along the beach. A couple of riders had crashes on a sandy bike path but none were injured.

The group had a few bike maintenance problems so the location of lunch had to be changed. Everyone enjoyed sandwiches in the Walmart parking lot in Marina!

The last tiny segment of the 35 mile ride was brutal - a tall, steep hill up to the church where the group stayed in Carmel. Some rode, and some walked.

The gang celebrated St. Patrick's day early with verde enchiladas. Why have green enchiladas on Sunday instead of Monday? Because Monday night they are staying in a campground. Ever try making enchiladas over a campfire?

The after-dinner hours were filled with a devotional and game time, then off to bed. There's only one shower at Sanctuary Bible Church so there was a lot of waiting in line as well (probably a lot of cold showers too!).
